INGREDIENTS:
1 green plantain
2 1/2 cups of water
2 cinnamon sticks (or 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder)
2 anise star
1/2 cup of sugar
salt, dash
lemon zest
1/2 tbsp of butter
1/2 can of coconut milk
1 bay leaf
1 can of evaporated carnation milk
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
ADD INGREDIENTS TO LIST
DIRECTIONS:
1) Peel and chop the plantains (optional to peel).
2) Add water and plantains to the blender, until puree.
3) In a saucepan, add the coconut milk and pour in the blended contents.
4) Add in cinnamon sticks, anise star, sugar, salt, butter, bay leaf, and lemon zest.
5) Stir over high heat, until it begins to boil.
6) Add vanilla extract and carnation milk. Reduce to a simmer.
7) Remove from heat and let it cool. Serve hot.
